Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Quinn Priester will have thoracic outlet decompression surgery on Monday and will not play this season.

Priester, 25, has been on the injured list all season due to a compressed nerve near his shoulder that causes discomfort in his right arm. The team initially had hoped he could fix the problem without surgery and return sometime in May.

"These things aren't working, so we're going to go down on Monday and get surgery with Dr. (Gregory) Pearl, make sure we clean this issue up so that the rest of my career, this isn't an issue," Priester told MLB.com.

"... Ten years ago, this was a little bit more of a question mark, but now as things progress like anything in the medical field, I feel really, really confident that we're going to come back even better. Clean some of this stuff up and make sure it's not an issue going forward."

In his first season with the Brewers in 2025, Priester earned his way into the starting rotation and went 13-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 29 appearances (24 starts).

In three major league seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2023-24), Boston Red Sox (2024) and Brewers, he is 19-12 with a 4.45 ERA in 50 appearances (39 starts).
