Three legendary players representing the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will join play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt on the call of the teams' game on June 6 at Yankee Stadium.

Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter and David Ortiz typically are together in the Fox Sports studio during big games. This time, however, they will be sitting in the broadcast booth for the network.

National Baseball Hall of Fame members Jeter and Ortiz have never served as analysts during a game, but this one won't be heavy with numbers. Instead, they are being asked to weave stories of their careers into game action.

"We know people are tuning in to see the game," Fox Sports president Brad Zager told The Athletic. "We always appreciate that fact. What will be different is the depth of storytelling that we can tell with these guys all in the booth for the length of the game."

Special guests are expected to drift in and out of the studio during the game to chat with the trio. Rodriguez, Jeter and Ortiz played together in 130 games between the teams, according to the network.

"We feel like one story will trigger the next story," Zager said. "I think the biggest difference you are going to see is that it is going to be much more free-flowing, much more of a hang and much more of a walk down Yankees-Red Sox history than a normal broadcast."
